The 22nd Annual AFRICAN VILLAGE HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE, which showcases and markets the original art of African American artists, will take place for 2001 at the
Sheraton Hotel, East Hartford, Connecticut. This is a two day show which starts Saturday, December 8th, from 10-5pm through Sunday, December 9th, from 12-5pm.

Twenty Two years ago, the Holiday Marketplace was started in the home of
textile artist, Ed Johnetta Miller, with the partnership of art lover,
Margaret Penn. Artists were hand picked for this market by the quality &
originality of their work. Today and for the past six (6) years, under the
watchful eye of organizer, Georgia Thomas, the Holiday Marketplace is still
known for unique & quality art work.

Georgia Thomas, an accomplished Fiber/Decorative Artist, worked from African Majesty Fiber Art Studio in Bloomfield, Connecticut until September 2000 when she moved to Savannah, Georgia. She is known from Atlanta to Boston for her Wearable Art. For more information, visit at http://my.websitenow.com/art2wear.

Each year, Exhibitors/ Artists are selected to participate in the
African Village HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE by submitting slides of their
handcrafted works to be exhibited and 1 booth display photo. No two (2) artists
are chosen for the Marketplace with similar items.

Each year Hartford area customers and a large Connecticut following anticipate
the opening of this show, contributing to high volume sales for artists.
