| OUR BOOK SALE WAS A SUCCESS |
|
In February, we held our Annual Book Sale at KINGSTON ROAD UNITED CHURCH, 975 Kingston Road East (just before Victoria Park). We had a lot of support from the local community, and raised enough money to get us through our monthly meetings. The money will go toward streetcar fare, meals, films and other activities.

ALIAS is a small digest published every second month by a group of low-income community members in the downtown core of Toronto, Canada. To see what the magazine physically looks like, click over to http://itsmysite.com/alias - we are interested in just about everything, but right now we're in the business of helping one another, and hopefully being of use to those who come to this page. Please let us know if you come across any dead links on this site. Thank you.
We meet once a week, and discuss upcoming issues, but we don't just publish six times a year - those are our REGULAR issues! We also publish SPECIAL THEME oriented issues of ALIAS... Topics we have tackled in the past include HOMELESSNESS, POVERTY, VIOLENCE IN OUR SOCIETY, ADDICTIONS, MENTAL HEALTH, SURVIVAL, JOBS WE HAVE HAD, FOOD AND HEALTH, SPIRITUALITY etc. We have recently produced an issue based on LONELINESS and another on FRIENDSHIP.

Contacting Us... |
| To be on our mailing list: either e-mail us and ask to be placed there, or write to us via snail-mail and we'll see what we can do. If you can afford to send (Canadian) postage, this is always welcome, as we go through a large amount of mail at times. But, if you can't, you can't; and that's all right, too. Just let us know, because we're always glad to hear from you, wherever and whoever you may be. ALIAS has a mailing list that goes out to many different countries, and across North America as well... check it out - we think you'll be glad you did!
ALIAS is produced by a low-income community editorial collective in the heart of downtown Toronto, and is supported by FRED VICTOR CENTRE, a social service agency for more than 100 years.
