| Hi I am an Adelaide Based Dance Tutor/Choreographer, providing workshops and classes in Funk/HipHop/R&B and Contemporary Dance Styles for YOUTH.... I have been working in the Arts Industry for more than 5 yrs, teaching and choreographing for 'Theatre Company's' and 'Various Communities'. I studied Dance 'Performance Art' between 1995-1997 at Adelaide's "Centre for the Performing Arts", now known as The "Roma Mitchell Arts Centre", graduating with an 'Associate Diploma'in 1998. I am currently employed with 2 Youth Theatre Companies: Whyalla's 'D-Faces of Youth Arts Inc.’ For the past 5 yrs I have been working with YOUTH teaching a fusion of Contemporary, Funk and Hip Hop, dance styles. I have Choreographed 2 of their major Productions "Beautiful People" & "This place we call home" as well of many funky dance routines for Community events. Unley's, 'Urban Myth Theatre of Youth' I am currently in my 3rd year, Choreographing, funk/Hip hop/R&B Style Dances with Youth Aged: 13-18 most having little or no dance experience at the time of joining the Company. Each term we explore a different style, and choreograph new dances. I like the Choreography to be shared between the dancers and myself. I will usually start off the Choreography with a choice of Music and at least 8 bars of 8 of Movement, I then help each dancer to develop their own 4-8 counts of movement. Their movement is then shared and taught to at least one other dancer to create a longer piece of movement, and so on. Out of Urban Myth I have built a close relationship with 3 of the girls, they felt they wanted to work in a more serious way to create dance routines to perform in Public: Street, Functions, Celebrations, e.t.c, We have just began classes at 'Ausdance SA-Shopfront Studio'. At this stage the classes are open to those eager to take dance a little more serious than the studio, and already we have increased the No. to 6 dancers. When we have found a Maximum of 10 dancers, whom are at an equally high standard we will then reform a seperate group to become BOdy BeAtS fusion dancers, to hit the streets and people of Adelaide!!!
