Clayton and Allied Families
This is the genealogy of Clayton, Allen, Bumpass, Coleman, Crews, Davis, Keeling, Looney, Stubblefield, Way, Owen Branches

New - Reed and Allied Families - Most of the these families moved to Hamilton, Saline, and White County, IL

Welcome to our first website. This site contains more than 3200 names and 1000 surnames. Our Clayton surname travels from VA, Person County, NC, Tippah County, MS, Hardeman County, TN and Northeast Arkansas.

We hope that the information from this site may be of some help to those of you searching for your kin.

We have been at this new hobby since March of 1998 and owe thanks to many we have had contact with through the internet. Special THANKS to Robin Clayton who peaked our interst many years ago with stories of our relatives. Thanks also to Ed Clayton, Jim Clayton, Harrold Sanders, Rosemary Hollis, Jim and Debbie Powell, Edward and Oceanna Rhew, and Paula Louise Naujalis.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions concerning the accuracy of any of the family trees. We have done our best to assure that the majority of the information is correct.

The Family Journals have been downloaded into Ultimate Family Tree Website and Surnames has been downloaded to World Connect Project.


U P D A T E : 2/17/2001. We have added almost 2000 names to our family tree since we created this web-site. We may have a change in the Allen line soon, still checking some information. Recently received some new information on our Clayton family that is very interesting, a letter found in an attic, (Yes, it does happen) written in 1932. Well, that is all for now. Happy to hear from all of you that have signed our guest book.

U P D A T E : 3/23/2001. New and corrected Notes on Allen Genealogy. Finished downloading new Allen Family Journal. Added (brief) new page on Keeling Family. Working to complete new grand parents. Edward Gaines married to Dorothy Broaddus abt 1770, Thomas Gaines married to Catherine Rawlins abt. 1795, and so it continues.
