Karmie's absolutely wonderful new, fun, Don forum!!
Hi!
My name is Sarahjane Bell, and yes I am the most gorgeous person in New Zealand- which isn't hard really. Kiwis are generally very ugly trolls (especially Nicola Congdon and Laura Penney-- naw, I take that back, Laura!)
As if you cared, I am a major fan of Don McLean, and use any medium to spread the word about him and his exceptional music.
Thanks to "the wonderful Phil Carlyle" (to borrow a wise man's phraseology) I am GLAD to be learning how to play the guitar! His name is Bonnie, he is beautiful, and he is gradually teaching me to play "Circus Song", a favourite Don song of mine. :) For tabs and chords and lyrics to Don songs, visit Phil's beautiful site!
Also, I am extremely in love with languages and linguistics and am thinking about studying Latin, as well as law, at university, if I grow up that is.
Well for now I am 16 and at school, and can't wait to get out of it.
No one will ever visit this site anyway, but the other love of my love, besides afghan biscuits, is dogs, and I have the most gorgeous baby collie (like Lassie) who is nine years old (her birthday is April Fools Day!) and extremely intelligent- Sandy takes after me in that respect.
So anyway, if you are looking for great music, I really suggest you get some stuff by Don McLean- that's the guy who sang the 1971 US rock anthem, American Pie.
Other great songs that he wrote include Empty Chairs, Mother Nature, Genesis, Vincent... but actually if you really want to know, a fantastic link is Bob Gregg's fantastic site!!! Worth your while also will be multiple visits to Martin's gorgeous Belfast and Archive sites and find out what a dish Don was in the old days!
Please take the time to participate in the above poll- chances are that your vote really makes a difference (this site having so few hits!) Seriously, I have designed it as an IQ test, so if you got the right answer I won't enslave you when I become queen of the universe.
People whom I will enslave are those that butcher animals and grammar, two things I adore. I love all animals except for spiders and rats. Spiders are scary and have too many legs, while rats are just plain gross. Grammar is great (how alliterative) and I am a supporter of "whom", and despair because people can't use the accusative case properly. God what a nerd I am. Oh well. It never bothered me, really. When you get to a teen, you can call it "individuality" and when I am old I will be "eccentric". Or you could be perverse and just say I'm weird but remember who is going to be the world dominator and watch your step, mister.
To all appearances I am a brunette, but that is just because I am so blonde my hair is too dumb to know what colour to be!
I really am one to watch- my friend Rach and I are in the process of making a film set on Mt Rabelly, studying the conflict between Josephine (the evil tomato disguised as a bottle of window-cleaner) and Derek, the heroic purple vacuum action duster. Other intriguing characters include Walter, the secretive baked beans can you never CAN be sure about) and Basil the flying sheep, son of Satan (we New Zealanders are really into sheep you know)
We haven't yet decided on a title for our debut epic but have considered the following: "I Thought Of A Really Good Title For Our Film In Science But Now I've Forgotten It" or, more catchily, "The Amazing Adventures Of Derek, The Rather Queer Purple Vacuum Action Duster". But we are open to suggestions- feel free to email them.
I also adore Monty Python. My favourites include Bookshop, any of the Gumby sketches, and Bicycle Repair Man, but the best would have to be Cannibalism- it's just in such bad taste!
But anyway I should contribute something to the world so I am going to help keep the Latin Language alive (despite the fact that it is dead) by saying:
funambulus es! fer mihi plus vini, tum abi, sceleste!
*sniggers cos most people can't tell what you are saying when you abuse them in Latin!*
Actually that didn't make much sense because I am non-alcoholic but OH WELL. I would like to here publicly launch my new word which is Donmcleanian which signifies any thing that is beautiful and true.
Actually here I would like to also say hello to my friend Kafrin cos I told her to go here in my letter. HELLO KAFRIN. Don't worry, I won't mention surnames :op. Here I would have liked to have launched the "All the" game, in which players take term saying "All the" plus any plural or abstract noun {IT IS A REALLY GOOD GAME} but I haven't checked with Kafrin about the copyright yet.
I am not only talented in Latin and French but also at German- darf ich noch eine Tasse Kaffee haben bitte? I also know how to say the alphabet (in English) which I gained from years of Sesame Street, which unfortunately now screens at 2:30 in the afternoon so I only get home in time to watch it on Wednesdays :o(.
Well my friends that about sums me up, so well yeah I'm off
Lafas luv ya! (Now now, Lizzy... you never copyrighted it!)
Love Sj - that's an order!
As well as Karmie's lovely DOn forum, also visit Martin's Don message board, and Phil's DM guitar forum!!! they're wonderful, and run by the most wonderful people!! |
