Goku: goku is the main charector in Dragon Ball Z he is married to ChiChi a hard working worry wart who is also the strongest women on Earth. He has one son named Gohan, goku is a sayian from outer space which he finds out from his brother Raditz. He is hard working loving person but can beat the crap out of anyone. Goku who was trained by his grandfather and Master Roshi has grown to a new level of spirt and physiacl strength. He can Fly, hover give one hell of a punch and can shoot a beam of energy called the kamehame attack created from an energy aura around his body which he makes when he "powers up". He always trys to find the good in evil ones often a critical mistake made by him which comes close to losing the Battle.
Gohan: gohan is goku's first son he is half sayian half human he like goku had a hidden power which came out for a short time when he got Enraged by Raditz who was beating up his father. He gave radizt a swift kick in the butt and that was it. However piccolo goku's part time enemey saw the potential in Gohan and trained him to become a good fighter.
Piccolo: The first ever villan. he was always after goku sense he was born, fighting to overcome him so he could rule the world but to no avail. He first became a "good guy" during the fight with raditz when he helped goku defeat him relizing the far greater evil. Sense then piccolo has been a powerful ally always their to help.
Kame: the creator of the Dragon Balls and the watcher of earth He is linked to Piccolo through Mind and Body. When he was groing up he witnessed great distruction and death which created a second self withen him which eventuallly Broke free and became Piccolo. Kame lives in a lookout far above the earth and aids the Z warriors in their battals.
Kurrin: Goku's Best friend who was once his Rival when growing up. Kurrin was always beside Goku and often served as a comic relife to thier fights although his power is insignificant to goku's he often is able to lend a hand catching the enemy off guard. Kurrin is short and bald he shaves his head but the short part wasnt on purpose one day he just stoped growing and that was it.
Raditz: Goku's older evil Brother who came to earth to invite goku to join him in battle he was of coaurse turned down. And got all pissed off. He was deafeted when he stole Gohan form goku. Piccolo Killed him but killed goku in the process.
Lord Kai: One of Goku's many trainers who taught him the kao-ken attack which increased goku's power at the expense of his body. He also taught goku the Genki-Dama (or spirt Bomb) which Draws energy from all living things into on gigantic sphere of energy. He makes Bad jokes and has some strange ways of training but hes good and is always a big help to goku.
Vegeta: He is the prince of all sayians he origanely came to earth for the dragon Balls with his partener Napa which I dont think I need to describe sense he was just a big bully. Vegeta is power hungry and a short tempered person who always wishes to be the best and ruler of the universe he's rude obnoxious but a Damn good fighter. He orginaly wanted to destroy earth but later Goku made him relize that good conqours all.
Freeza: An all powerful maniac from another galexy who destroyed panet Vegita the sayian homeworld. He is power hungry evil and a real big jerk. He stole Vegeta from his father before he blew up planet vegita (sounds the same but speeled differntly). He made vegeta do things for him and destroyed his child hood. He has an incredibal power and is capable of transforming into four differnt monsters each more powerful than the last. He first showed on Namek the birth place of Piccolo and Kame looking for the Namekian dragon balls to wish for imortality. He was defeated by goku and is then brought back to like by his father king Cold but I havent watched that far so I wont go on sense I havent scene it.
The "Cell Era" was one of the most drawn out battles in Dragon Ball ever faught. We see many changes through many charcaters, and new levels of power as well. Cell, or Perfect Cell, was probably the most powerful, or close to it, enemy in the Dragon Ball Z series. Here, I will explain the many stages of Cell, and how he works, or should I say worked...
First stage Cell is the time where we first meet Cell. Cell was created by the mad scientist Dr. Gero. This takes place in the series we would later call Dragon Ball GT. Cell then steals the time machine of that time's Trunks and uses it to go back through time to present day, around when Gohan is 11 or so. Apparently, the time machine contains "cells" of the other Z warriors, and Cell uses this to become more evolved. At this time, Cell looks like a lizard, scropion, and humanoid put together into one being. He only needs Androids number 17, and number 18 to become comlete, or Perfect.

Broli
Broli made his first appearence in the DBZ movie #8. His background is rather scarse, but he is believed to be the legendnary super saiyan. It is revealed by his father, Paragus, that Broli has always had a hard time controlling his temper and has destroyed numerous cities and people on planet Vegita. Paragus then has a collar made especially for Broli that keeps him under control. Once Broli meets Goku, not even the collar can hold him back. Broli has had a sparse past with Goku however as they were both born at the same time. When Goku was born he was crying like crazy and apparently woke Broli from his sleep, which enraged him and as a result has kept a grudge againt Goku. The battle agaisnt Broli is one of the fiercest battles, the Z warriors have ever experienced. Once Broli turned super saiyan, he was just unstoppable showing enormous powerful, so powerful that even Vegeta, the sayian prince, believed no one could beat him. Eventually Broli took on Goku one on one, and pretty much manhandled him through the whole battle. It took the KIs of all the other warriors, including Vegita to give Goku enough strengh to deliver the final blow to Broli. After movie 8, Broli makes 2 more appearences as he comes back in movie 10, and then comes back in movie 11 as Bio Broli. Though not a main villian of the series, he has made enough appearences to be considered one and a deadly threat to everyone
