A long time ago, people were gazing up in the heavens wondering what is up there. As years passed people start to discover thw wonders of the universe. They viewed heavenly bodies withy home made telescopes. As years paased by, they discovered the nine planets. They are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and finally Pluto. Over the years, they thought that they were the only planets revolving around the sun. But in the year 2000, astronomers made a new discovery. They viewed another planet revolving around the sun and as the years passed by there were more dicoveries. |
In the year 2000 the astrologers made an exiting discovery, they saw a distant planet they named Sedna. This planet was 3 times as far as Pluto from the sun. Half of the planet was covered with ice while the other is covered with rock. |

In the year 2001 and 2003, they made another discovery. They named the new planet Quaoar and 20004 DW. Both are very far from the sun and not clearly seen by a telescope. On the three, 2004 DW is the farthest , second is Sedna and first is Quaoar. |
Before the discovery of the three new planets, astronomers wonder if there is a ninth planet. They called this theorical planet, Planet X. Planet X was supposed to be farther from the sun than pluto and can hardly be seen by the naked eye. But since the discovery of the new planets , Planet X was no longer a theory but now a fact. |
