My name is Rick Schroder. I currently work as a Development/Test Technician at Solar Turbines in San Diego, CA. I started working with gas turbines in 1985 when I joined the Navy. Six years of that and I went to work for Steward & Stevenson, Inc. as a Field Engineer. After an auto accident in late 1992, I was unable to walk for almost two years. I then became a consultant in the turbine industry teaching classes in North and South America. I owned a few of my own businesses in the late 90's and then went into the IT industry. I taught the Microsoft and CompTIA tract for 3 years before I started working in the Test Cells at Solar Turbines. That is the "Reader's Digest" version of my resume'. About JAFO...If you have ever seen the movie "Blue Thunder," you will undoubtably know what the accronym means. For those of you who haven't, it stands for Just Another F***ing Observer. Which is what I do. I obtain and record data on gas turbine engines. Go figure.
