Update on campus life: It was brought to my attention after an All Greek meeting today that Chip Morris is now using sites such as Facebook to go through and look for pictures of students drinking alcohol and partying. In reality he can't do anything about the pictures unless he has the B.A.C. level of the person drinking the alcohol at the time and the date it happened to prove they were underage. This does still pose a problem however, because he is using the pictures to find out where we, as college students, have our parties, and where he can therefore, go and try to bust us. I wouldn't doubt if he was especially paying close attention to the Greeks on facebook because as Greeks we get labelled as partiers and that we do nothing but drink and get smashed out of our minds. Anybody who is actually in a fraternity or sorority can tell you otherwise, especially if you are in a community service one such as what mine is comprised of. However, because of this stereotype and the fact that the school itself if the one that has to sign up to get facebook it should not be of surprise to anyone that Chip Morris probably has access to all of our accounts on facebook, not that he's necessarily hacking into our accounts, but it shouldn't surprise anyone in the least bit if he did, or does. So i'm putting this in my profile for a couple of days to inform people what Chip is doing and to tell everyone to be careful what you put in your facebook account. For example, don't put pictures of people drinking in your account, and if your Greek and want to put rush activities in, be very careful with what activities you put in. Not that I think he'll actually add your guy's screen names to his buddy list, if he even uses aol, but when you put your aim names in there that just gives him access to a mess load of information through your away messages because everyone puts stuff in them like out partying or something to that affect. One particular way around this is to install a spyware link in your profile that when people click on it it directs them to a page with a bunch of other people's screen names who have also clicked on the link. Thus you can see every person that has your screen name as long as they click on the link. I have tried this before and have discovered people that had my screen name that I didn't even know had it. You can obtain this spy link by simply going to this website http://www.aimfilez.com/. Search on the site, it should have a list of aim tricks that you can use. Also just be careful with what info your putting in the account about yourself, especially if he's really looking to bust you for something. And be very careful with the mention of parties in your accounts, we don't need people like him knocking on our door because we put up a party invite in our account and have now gotten a mass load of people in trouble for underage drinking or something like that. Further more, I can imagine other sites might also be used other than facebook; popular sites such as webshots, jolinko (if anyone still uses that), myspace, live journal, or even just googling. I have heard of a faculty member on this campus that when she goes to hire people narrows it down to three choices then uses facebook, my space, and google to see what the three candidates left have on their accounts, if they have one, and then uses this to make her decision. Granted what we do with our personal lives is none of their business, however these are the facts of what they are doing and you, as an informed reader, are now that much smarter for knowing they do it, and also for them not knowing that you know they do it. So basically just be careful with what you put or say in your accounts because I think we're all better safe than sorry. As much as doing something sneaky like this pisses me off, and I'm sure several other people who might end up reading this message tonight, lets be smarter than the system. Just remember there's more than one way to skin a cat, and they definitely aren't going to stop us from having fun nor are they going to shut Greek life down, they can kiss my white Greek ass before I'll let that happen. I'm just saying lets be one step ahead of the game. Thanks for listening to this rant 8-)
