My name is Emily and I live in Bel Air, Maryland, USA. I am fifteen years old and I am a sophomore at C Milton Wright High School.
I have studied Tibet on my own, for the past three years. I have found this small nation one of the most interesting cultures I ever knew. I love the religion, Buddhism, and its teachings. I am not a Buddhist, however, I tend to use many of its teachings in my life.
Due to the Chinese overtake of Tibet, the nation no longer exists. The name, that is. The spiritual leader had to flee to Nepal for his safety. And many other fled too. But most of the people that once lived there have been killed, chased out, or are being forced to give up their religion and their language.
This website is devoted to Tibet; a small attempt to keep it alive. There are many nations and people suffering in them, just as Tibet is suffering. There a so many small things you can do to help, if not big things. These people are losing their entire lives and they must be helped. |
