HTML Editor
- The HTML Editor described here is used to edit Maxlet text-HTML properties only (including template HTML). To edit Page and Site text-HTML fields use the Field Editor.
- The Advanced mode of the editor requires Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and Java. Click here to see if your browser supports Java.
- Most HTML properties support shorthand links. If shorthand links are not supported, the Insert/Shorthand Link menu option will be grayed out in the Advanced Editor.
Basic Editor
The HTML Editor has two modes: Basic and Advanced. The Basic Editor is a simple browser textarea. To save changes click Update HTML. If your browser supports Advanced mode you see a button labeled Advanced Editor.
Advanced Editor
The Advanced Editor provides features for formatting text, and inserting common HTML constructs like tables and bullet lists. If the property being edited supports shorthand links an Insert Shorthand dialog box is also available.
Images
The Insert Image dialog inserts a standalone image (expressed with HTML) into your content. To insert a reference to a Page Image or a Site Image (Image List), use the Insert Shorthand dialog. Both Page and Site images are available under the Image List node of the shorthand tree.
Formatting
To format a piece of text, first highlight it by dragging your mouse over the text, and then click the right mouse button or left click the Format menu for options. You can also create a link around a piece of text using the Format menu.
Inserting
To insert HTML or a shorthand link at a particular spot within your text, right click where you want the insert to occur, and then choose what to insert from the displayed context menu. You can also left click to establish an insertion point and then left click the Insert menu at the top.
Line Breaks
Some multi-line HTML properites have an associated property called Keep Line Breaks. If this option is on, the line breaks you place in your text when you hit the Enter key will be preserved when your text is displayed. If available, the option can be accessed from the maxlet property list you see when you first begin editing the maxlet. See also Line Breaks.
Saving Changes
To save your changes click Save and View. To cleanup your HTML syntax click Clean HTML on the Edit menu.
Graphical Tab
The Graphical Tab is only available with HTML properties which do not support shorthand links.
