As an assistant living care provider, our philosophy is to maximize our residents personal dignity, autonomy, independence, privacy and choice. We strive to accomodate our residents changing or unique needs and preferences.
We welcome and encourage family involvement. Our doors are open from 9:00AM to 9:00PM. Visitors and guests are welcome to stop by anytime.
McKamey's Assisted Living is owned and operated by Lois McKamey. She opened the doors to her facility in 1984 and is licensed by the State of Ohio. It was through her Grandmother, the late Edna LeMaster, who raised Ms. McKamey from a small child, who also raised the awarness and need for the elderly to have an alternative place to go other than a nursing home. Fortunately, Ms. McKamey founded this place.
Quiet by nature, but loud in actions, Ms. McKamey, against all odds, successfully took the needed measures and strides entailed in order to procur a license for her facility to have 12 residents, as well as obtaining a zoning variance from the City of Kettering. Unwittingly, Ms. McKamey was one of the first pioneers to own an assisted living facility within the Dayton area.
