Peter Tork
Peter Tork's Official WebSite

Peter Halsten Thorkelson was born on February 13th, 1942 in Washington DC. He was born to John and Virginia Thorkelson. He has two brothers, Nick and Chris and one sister Anne. As a child Peter was very into playing music. He played a number of instruments in his youth. Also as a child Peter moved alot. At one time he actually lived in Germany. Finally his family settled in Connecticut. During the early part of the 60's, Peter performed in Greenwich Village in NYC. He was playing pass the basket gigs which were getting him money not even enough to live on. Then Peter set out for California where he met up with his old buddy Steven Stills who told him to audition for The Monkees. Peter turned it down..but then went anyways. The rest is history. He became a monkee. After the Monkees (in which he bought himself out of his contract), he had a number of various jobs and finally in the late 70's after being a school teacher in a private high school in CA, he decided to do music again. He's been performing ever since. In the late 80's, The Monkees did a 20th Anniversary tour, unfortunately without Mike Nesmith. In 1994, Peter released a solo album called "Stranger Things Have Happened." In 1996, Peter and James Lee Stanley put out an acoustic album called "Two Man Band," two guitars and two voices. Also in 1996, all four Monkees got back together and put out "Justus." Now in the year 2000, Peter is 58 years old and now in a band called the Shoe Suede Blues (very good band). They tour small clubs around country...basically on the coasts. Peter Tork is my idol...and a far better musician than what alot of people make him out to be. Peter Tork...You Rule! By the way I met him on July 14th, 2000. He is the nicest man ever :)
Michael Nesmith
The Video Ranch

Robert Michael Nesmith was born on December 30th, 1942 in Texas to Warren and Bette Nesmith. Michael had a hard childhood. His parents divorced and his mother was left with nothing. In school, Michael didn't like being there. He used to just get up from his seat and walk out of class. He took up the guitar when a firework exploded in his hand and to regain strength he started playing on his own. He then continued it and started playing gigs. Finally he went to California and he auditioned for the Monkees and got the role. After the Monkees, he put together a band called The First National Band. After that he took a turn for the better (for him) and he went into the video industry. Todays teenagers should be greatful to Michael Nesmith because he came up with the concept for MTV. He is a music video pioneer. Throughout the 80's, he went on to movies. In the 90's, he got back together with the Monkees for an album and a UK tour and then he didn't go onto the US. In 1999, he released a fiction novel called, "The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora." (Very good). Now in the year 2000, he's going to be 58 and now currently working on a second novel and a movie called, "Fried Pies." This entrepeneur deserves many applauses.
