Hello! My name is Kelly. This site is a response to my love and respect for our beautiful home, Planet Earth, and for all of the life that it sustains. The Earth gives us everything we need to survive; we cannot possibly survive without it. Yet everywhere I look I see the human race destroying and disrespecting it. We have exploited The Earth in the interests of money and power. It's to the point, now, that if we keep going the way we have been for the last century we will surely cause our own extinction. This may seem to be a fatalistic point of view, but just look at how many species of life (plant and animal) we have already caused to dissappear, and how many more we have put on the endangered species list.

We seem, in our perception, to have separated ourselves from the rest of nature. Somehow we've come to believe that we are above it; and even that we can control and manipulate it for our gain. We have set ourselves apart from nature, but we are A PART OF nature. We are no more important than any other element of it. In fact we are made up of the elements of nature. Air, water, earth, and fire. Air, as an example, is so much a part of our make up that we will die within minutes if we are deprived of it. The importance of air to our survival is evident in the fact that breathing is an involuntary physical function. The body doesn't even trust the conscious mind to make sure we get the air we need. But, as it is, we just keep burning fossil fuels and pumping toxins out of smoke stacks and into the atmosphere...all in the name of money.

What strikes me as more than a little absurd is that a lot of people have yet to realize that if we (or our children or grandchildren) have no clean air to breathe, money will be the least of our worries. How does one make or spend money when they are dead?

Something has got to give!

This issue is a huge one, and for some it is overwhelming to think about. "I'm just one person. What could I possibly do that would make a difference?" is a common concern.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
-Gandhi

Every time one more person takes it upon themselves to do something to help, the balance and momentum shift in the right direction. One more person doing good in the world is one more than there was before. It all adds up!

This site is dedicated to awareness, to discussion and sharing ideas and inspirations that will lead to action. I invite you to post your thoughts on the issue, share what you have been doing and your ideas to better the environment on the message board. Please join me and so many others in the effort to stop the destruction of Our Mother Earth.
