SANGRUR (BARNALA) 08/08/2006 (NARESH KUMAR) Two persons seriously injured during firing between two gangsters in the Barnala court complex.One of them named Kala seriously injured in group clash when he recieved bullet injury in his stomach and another one seriously injured by iron rods and swords.According to sources two gangsters of the area kala group and bitta group are in gang war for a long time,today both groups were present in court complex due to hearing of a pending case.Atonce they entered on their vehicles in no parking zone of court complex,a member of kala group beaten up by bitta group members bitterly with swords and iron rods then bitta group member fired some shots with pistol on kala ,head of kala gang.One shot injured his stomach badaly. After this attack,the injured persons of both sides had been admitted to civil hospital Barnala where gangster kala reffered to Rajindra hospital Patiala .The other gangsters along with their weapons fled away from the spot and police could not nab any of them except injured one.It is said that a person was already killed an year ago during the gang war. Amrinder Singh laid down various foundation stones at Sunam where he visted on the occassion of Martydom day of Shaheed Udham Singh along with Village Development Minister Mr.Lal Singh , Local Body Minister Ch. Jagjit Singh and State congress president Mr.Shamsher Singh Dullo. Foundation Stones laid by him for Safe Drinking Water and Sewerage system worth Rs.5.75 cr,an ultra modern bus stand worth Rs.1.14 cr,a road on the name of Late Bhagwan Dass Arora ex mininster Punjab and He also announced Rs 25 lac for Railway crossing for deposting the same to Railway authorities.Further He distributed cheques worth Rs. 26 lacs to thos families which suffered major damage of constructions due to natural clamities few years ago.CM honoured Prof. Sikander Singh authour of biography of Shaheed Udham Singh on which a film was also picturised with fame actor Raj Babbar few years ago.CM presented siropas to some reletives of Shaheed Udham Singh. Other who spokes on the dias were Rajinder Deepa,Surinder Pal Singh Sibia President DCCI,Jasbir Singh Ex. Minister Punjab. SANGRUR ( 21 JULY 2006 ) NARESH KUMAR A 26 years old married man Sukhwinder Singh s/o Baldev Singh resident of Preet Nagar Sangrur entered in his neibhour 's house molested a twelve year old minor girl where this minor girl was alone, but accuced fled away when girl raised a alarm. An FIR has been lodged in city police station u/s 354 IPC. According to SHO Baljit Singh, Sangrur ( 21st July 2006 ) (NARESH KUMAR) City police Sangrur has registered a case of forgery and fake documentation against a resident of village Bagrian Tehsil Dhuri District Sangrur while unsuccessfully trying to transfer Rs 30 lacs in his account through a cheque of lost cheque book which was missing since 1999 . According to police sources the bank manager of State Bank of Patiala of local New Grain Market branch informed Amrit Lal S/o Sham Lal resident of New Grain Market Sangrur on Dated 12/07/2006 that a cheque worth Rs 30 lac issued by him is presented by Oriental Bank of Commerce Bagrian branch for clearance.but according to Amrit Lal he had never issued any such cheque and he immidiatally approached the SSP Sangrur Mr.Harinder Chahal . During preliminary enquiry it was found that the cheque was issued from the lost chaquebook of Amrit Lal and was issued in favour of Avtar singh s/o Karnail Singh on date 5/06/2006 .The bank has already issued a new cheque book to Amrit Lal in place of the lost one.A case has been registered against Mr Avtar Singh u/s 420,467,468,471 IPC. No arrest has been made as yet.

SANGRUR ( NARESH KUMAR ) 16 JUNE 2006 A DEAD BODY OF A YOUNG LADY RECOVERED FROM THE FALL OF BHATINDA BRANCH CANAL NEAR VILLAGE BALLOKE BY SEHNA POLICE , POLICE DISTRICT BARNALA. THE UNIDENTIFIED DEAD BODY WAS WEARING YELLOW CLOTHS .THE POST MORTEM WAS CONDUCTED AT CIVIL HOSPITAL BARNALA AND LATER ON CREMATED BY THE POLICE AS HER IDENTITY WAS NOT ESTABLISHED SAID POLICE AUTHORITIES. SANGRUR DATED 19/06/2006 ( NARESH KUMAR ) On the call of Punjab agro inputs dealers association Punjab ,a demostration was held in front of the District Agriculture office Sangrur.Addressing the demostrators,Barinder Singh State chief of the association said that Agriculture Deptt is harrasing the agro input dealers by issuing the notices regarding quality of pesticides whereas the input dealers only sale the sealed material manfactured by the various companies.he also annuonced the statewide demostrations at all districts headquarters . Gurcharan Singh agriculture officer clarified that the deptt. is taking action on the orders of Director agriculture deptt. Punjab to take strict action against the sellers of sub-standerd pesticides.

Sangrur 10July (NARESH KUMAR) A police team headed by D.S.P Gursharan Singh Bedi nabbed four persons along with 35 bags of poppy husk weighed 12 Qts. According to the police Sources they recieved a call by an unknown person that a truck no HR-38-K-6292 will pass from near Changal village Hereri Road. The police team organised a Naka near Changal and recovered the poppy husk along with four persons named Lakha Singh S/o Ishar Singh, Nek Singh S/o Surjan Singh,Babbi S/o Bhajan Singh all residents of Sunam (Disst. Sangrur) and Subash resident of Rajpura Road, Patiala. A case has been registered under section 15 N.D.P.S. act.

SANGRUR (11TH JULY 2006 ) NARESH KUMAR VIGILANCE TEAM SANGRUR TODAY CAUGHT RED HANDED A SUB INSPECTOR OF PUNJAB POLICE POSTED AT POLICE STATION BHADAUR ( BARNALA) WHILE TAKING BRIBE RS. 4000/- FROM A TRUCK OWNER MOHINDER SINGH OF RAMPURA PHUL . ACCORDING TO D.S.P. VIGILANCE ROOP SINGH MAUR , MOHINDER SINGH 'S TRUCK WAS STOLEN FEW DAYS AGO FROM BHADAUR AREA AND WAS LATER ON RECOVERED BY SUB INSPECTOR IQBAL SINGH. IN THE LIEU OF RELEASING TRUCK SUB INSPECTOR DEMANDED RS 4000/- FROM MOHINDER SINGH. THE TRUCK OWNER APPROACHED THE VIGILANCE DEPARTMENT. THE VIGILANCE TEAM IMMEDIATELY RAIDED THE BHADAUR POLICE STATION WHERE SUB INSPECTOR IQBAL SINGH NABBED RED HANDED AT HIS RESIDENCE IN POLICE STATION AREA. A CASE HAS BEEN REGISTERED AGAINST HIM.
