Polynesians have been using Noni Juice to treat fever, infection, diarrhea, constipation, asthma, insect and animal bites, and various other ailments.
THE PROOF IS IN THE LAB...
Modern scientists have compiled evidence of the Morinda Citrifolia plant. The journal entitled "Cancer Letters" [73(2-3), 161-166] published a study conducted at the Keio University and the Institute of Biomedical Science in Japan. Five hundred plants were tested to inhibit pre-cancer cell development. Noni extract was shown to be the MOST EFFECTIVE of those tested.
Other researchers have documented the antibacterial and anaseptic properties of Noni for the control of Pseudomonas aeruginasa, Proteus Morganii, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillu, Escherihia coli and Salmonella.
A French team of researchers tested the analgesic and sedative effects of extracts from Noni [Plants Medica 56: 430-434 (1990)], which validated the extract's effectiveness for relief of pain.
Research has shown that Scopoletin, one of Noni's constituents, binds to serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter and precursor to the hormone, melatonin. Serotonin, thought to regulate sleep, temperature, hunger and sexual patterns, is also considered a key cause of Alzheimer's disease as well as migraine headaches and depression.
Our bodies require a key alkaloid, Xeronine, to activate proteins and regulate rigidity and shape of already active proteins. Proxeroxine, a colloidal substance and precursor to Xeronine, is found to be at highly concentrated levels in Noni. This accounts for the wide ranging medicinal value.
WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN?...
Morinda Citrifolia plants need very special conditions to grow beneficial fruit. Though the people of Polynesia have used the juice for over 2,000 years, for its healthful properties...it was not until Stephen Story and John Wadsworth founded Morinda, that the general population in North and South America, began to hear and experience the benefits of Noni Juice.
Though Ethnobotanists were the first to document studies about the plant's use among the local population in 1866, it was not introduced to the Americas until 1996. The founders of Morinda wanted the best possible product and process. Only 100% juice from noni is used, not a combination of less potent parts of the plant. Morinda is focused on deriving numerous products solely from the Morinda citrifolia plant. It can be mixed with other juices or drinks and has a shelf life of two years at room temperature, unopened. Once the bottle is opened, the juice may be kept in the refrigerator for several months.
