Day 1
Lesson: Today we will get materials for a potion that cures boils which we will be making tomorrow. The materials needed are:
1 cauldron
1 lb of dried nettles
2 snake fangs
3 porcupine quills
You should have a cauldron already and here some snake fangs, porcupine quils, and dried nettles.
Homework: Sort out the materials so you have 2 snake fangs, 3 porcupine quills and 1 lb of dried nettles. On the homework form just tell me that you sorted your materials.

Day 2
Lesson: Now we will make the potion that cure boils. Follow these steps:
1. Put your cauldron over the fire for 10 minutes.
2. While your cauldron is heating up crush your 2 snake fangs.
3. Take your cauldron off the fire after the 10 minutes.
4. Add 3 porcupine quills and stir.
5. Add the dried nettles and stir.
6. Add the snake fangs and stir.
Congradulations! You should have completed your first potion.
Homework: Did you make your potion right? What part did you have trouble with?

Day 3
Lesson: Okay, since you've been working so hard why don't you take a break?
Homework: None, but you can still fill out the homework form and get credit.

Day 4
Lesson: Now we will use the remainder of the materials to make a Forgetfulness potion tomorrow.
Homework: Sort out the materials so you have 3 snake fangs, 6 porcupine quills, and 1 1/2 pounds of dried nettles. On the homework form tell me you sorted your materials.

Day 5
Lesson: Now we make the Forgetfulness potion. It has similar steps to the last potion, but this one is slightly harder. Follow these steps:

1. Put your cauldron over the fire for 10 minutes.
2. While your cauldron is heating up crush your 3 snake fangs.
3. Take your cauldron off the fire after 10 minutes.
4. Add your 6 porcupine quills and stir.
5. Add the dried nettles and stir.
6. Add the snake fangs and stir.
Congradulations! You have made a Forgetfulness potion. Make sure you don't drink this potion or you will forget everything you know. The time it lasts depends on how much they drank.
Homework: Tell me if you think you made the potion correctly and something this potion does.

When you have turned in all 5 of the homework assignments take this exam. You must answer at least 3 of the 4 questions correctly to pass it. You will be notified whether you pass or fail. If you fail you must retake the exam. If you pass you have completed your first year of Defense Against the Dark Arts and once you pass all of your other classes you will be sent a letter with the next years courses you can take and you will again have to take at least 3 classes. Good luck on the exam!
