| Thank you so much for coming to visit this Website. As most of you know, there is an incredibly dangerous Health Care Crisis in our country. This crisis has been caused by the greedy, arrogant and self serving politicians that are running our provinces and country. Many of you are now, or know someone, who is suffering because there is no system in place to look after us when we are sick. Some people are even dying because of the overloaded Health Care System. If one of our politicians had a loved one who needed care in order to live, do you think that they would be waiting in line like us? How would they feel if their loved one had cancer and had to wait for test upon test and then more waiting. Bob went into the Vancouver Cancer Clinic on July 27 of this year for very aggressive chemo treatment and total body radiation - he has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was diagnosed last year and went through a series of chemo treatments during the summer. At the beginning of this year, he started to have pain in his abdomen area and thus began his nightmare with the medical system. He was consistantly being put off, sent home with pain killers, and being told that it was probably "shingles". I would think that knowing he was being treated for lymphoma the previous year, might have been their first clue that the cancer might be back! Not so, he was continually put off and misdiagnosed for 5 months! The pain was so bad for all that time, he had to sleep sitting up in a chair for five whole months! Right now he is very sick but OK and we all pray that he survives. It has been a horrendous ordeal for all of us and the stress and anguish never leaves. This kind of treatment from the Healthcare System doesn't just affect the patient and force them to face death on a continuous basis, it affects the entire family and their lives too. At times I even find it hard to function at all. We are a very close family and the mere idea of my brother dying because of a misdiagnosis and inefficient care makes me very angry. This whole Healthcare Nightmare has been totally unnecessary right from the beginning of this year.
