The Truth About Horses and slaughter houses
Horses are the most beautiful animals ever. why would anybody want to kill them? who would want to kill them? People kill millions of horses every day simply because they are considered "worthless" or they just don't want them anymore, but don't want to go to the trouble of selling them. so those poor horses are taken to a slaughter house. Here, they are rarely fed, rarely watered, rarely have clean living accomodations, and in the end, they are killed. Horses were not intended to be killed for the simple pleasure of being killed. They were intended to provide fun for all and happiness and beauty. If you have ever watched Black Beauty, I think you know what I mean. I am horse crazy and do not support horse slaughter one little bit. That is why this website is called savinghorses. They should not have to die just for owner's pleasure of murdering their horses. You want to know some more cold, hard, unbelieveable yet truthful facts about slaughter houses? Ok here goes: when a mare is pregnant and she gets sent to the slaughter house, they cut the unborn foal out of her stomach and grind it up into dog food. Just like they do with all of the foals, mares, stallions, geldings, etc. tht come in all the time. Think about this. If you were a horse, Would you want to be killed and turned into dog food just for the sake of it? Would you? Didn't think so. Check out all the other pages for more horse information.
Horses in every-day life
INTRODUCTION TO HORSES: Horses are the wild spirit of the plains. They have been for many years and they always will be. Horses are the most majestic, beautiful, and noble animals you could ever find. No animal is better than the horse- in my opinion. Horses have been on the earth since about fifty million years ago. That's a long time. Christopher Columbus brought the horses over to America from Spain. That is how and why we have horses today. COATS AND MARKINGS: COATS: A horses coat can consist of any of the following colors and patterns: Buckskin: Light yellowish with black mane and tail. Sorrel: reddish-brown to Brownish-orange with same color mane. Chestnut: Dark red or brownish-red. Bay: Red to Reddish-brown with black mane and tail. Roan: Base color of red, black, or brown muted and lightened by white hairs that give speckeled appearance; usually darker on head or lower legs. Palomino: Pale cream to gold with witish mane and tail. Dun: Grayish or Reddish-yellow with darker stripe down middle of back. MARKINGS: A horse's markings can consist of any of the following: Star: a diamond on the horse's forehead. Stripe: A thin white stripe that runs from the forehead to the center of the muzzle. White face: The horse's face is completely white. Blaze: a thick, human foot-like shape that runs from the forehead to the mouth. Snip: a very small diamond in the center of the horse's muzzle. Interrupted stripe: a stripe much like the normal stripe, only it has broken places. Parts of a horse: The parts of a horse are: forehead, bridge of nose, nostril, muzzle, throatlatch, neck, point of shoulder, shoulder, chest, elbow, forearm, knee, coronet, hoof, poll, crest, withers, heart girth, back, loin, croup, point of hip, tailhead, buttocks, hindquarters, hock, pastern, fetlock, cannon, gaskin, stifle, and flank. Good stop slaughter sayings:] A mare and her foal togther as they always should be! End the suffering end the slaughter.- End the slaughter. Its one thing to tell yourself against it. It's another to tell everyone else.- We rode them through battle, the've stood by us through the years, why do we kill them? Help the horses!!! stop the abuse!- I have a future don't take it away.
Care Of Your Horse:
FEEDING: You should always have a bucket of fresh food in your horse's stall twenty four hours a day. This also includes water. A horse's diet basically consists of oats, bran, vegetables, greens, and sometimes hay. (The hay in the stall is what your horse will eat when it comes to hay.) The bucket should always be lukewarm or semi-cold. Never Ever give your horse ice cold water. It will make them very sick. Even if they are very very hot. If you would like to, you can also put a drop of mineral oil vitamins in their water. Only do this on occasion. GROOMING: Always keep your horse's stall mucked out. Muck the stall out every single day. Cross tie your horse in his stall, begin to brush him with the curry comb, then move on to the dandy brush, followed by the body brush. Use your hoof pick to clean the dirt, manure, and grime out from your horse's hooves. Call in the vet and farrier every six weeks so the horse can be shod (get shoes) and have a routine veterinarian check up. TLC/LOVE: If you really want to show your horse you love him and want to give him some extra TLC (Tender Loving Care,) Then pet him, pat him, praise him, and give him treats every day. You also need to ride him at least once or twice a day. Horses need a lot of care and affection. In time, you should be able to win him over.
