Her role in the Golden Girls was great. Her proformance fanomimal. She is Betty White .Betty is known for her wounderful smile, her comedy and the fact that she was a pioner of television.Betty started with tv when it was new, only in a few house but every one loved to watch the little box in the corner. She was in many TV shows which included The Betty White Show, Life With Elizibeth, and The Pet Set. Beside Seeing Betty in many TV shows and geast stars,Betty also did many TV game shows. Later her wonderful personality got her a perament role on the Mary Tyler More Show as the wonderful Sue Ann Nevens one of those characters that you just love to hate. After the Mary Tyler More Show Betty is probably most known to you as the crazy little lady from the upside down town of St.Olaf, Rose.
When Betty was 1st handed the scripted she was writen in as the charater Blanch and Rue the actress who ended up playing Blanch was writen in as Rose. When Rue was reading threw the script she fell in love with the charater Blanch, but her angent told her not to have her heart set on it because Betty White was playing her. So i do not think that i have to tell you how it ended, but if you do not know Betty ended up swiching that way she would not have to play a man hungrey lady agean so every thing worked out!!!

Rue McClanahan was born on Febuary 21,1935 in Oklahoma. When Rue was growing up her parents wanted her to take part in the arts. Even though Rue's acting made her famous she started out as a dancer, she took many privte lessons and then tought. Then at the age of 18 Rue's love changed over from danceing and was placed on stage.
After Rue finished collage she followed her heart and went to New York hoping one day she would be on Broadway! In the process she found her self falling in love to Tom Lloyed, then married and had a son Mark! The Marrage was not going well and ended up devoricing. Then she fell in love again this time to Norman Hartweg and then again did not work out. Even thought she devoriced her 1st to husbands she was detremand to fall in love and realy fall in love, But her next marrage ended up just the same that time to Peter DeMayo.
As her relationships were not doing so well her acting was going great!!! That was just the beginning of her life!! Rue was in a number of shows and productions some being All in The Family, Moude, The Golden Girls, and The Golden Palace!!! Those were just the ones that you would know her by but she was in a whole lot more the list could go on for ever!!!
If you know her as the sex hungry slut from the south Blanch. Then you know her in one of her most greatest roles!!! Rue is an overall great person and most likely alot of fun to be around!!!
Today you can see Rue up close on stage in New Your in the play Wicked so go pull up a seat and go see one of the best Actresses on television!!!!

“Picture it…” (Sophia, 1985) Sophia Petrillo a spunky, petite, gray haired, old Sicilian. She is mostly known as Sophia Petrillo but some people don’t know her real name Estelle (Scher) Getty. Estelle was born on July 25th, 1923 in New York. Estelle loved theater since she was born. She always played the mother to many other actors in both films and TV. As a teenager she auditioned for every play that was available to her.
After marrying Arthur Gettleman she made herself at home in Queens, NY. Later, in life she became politically involved. She then had two sons Carl and Barry who soon followed her by protesting against the war in Vietnam. In the early 1970’s after seeing a play written by Harvey Fierstein she approached him and asked him to write a part for her. He later came up with “Torch Song Trilogy.”
Estelle was on many TV shows and films one including the 1980’s sitcom “The Golden Girls.” Estelle also had roles on other TV shows such as Empty Nest from 1994-95, The Golden Palace in 1992, and Copacabana in 1985. Some films that she was in would include Stuart Little in 1999 playing Grandma Estelle Little, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot! in 1992 playing Tutti Bomowski, Mannequin in 1987 playing Mrs. Claire Prince Timkin, Mask in 1985 playing Evelyn and took part in many more.
Estelle was nominated for many awards including Emmy’s and Golden Globes. Some of the Emmy’s that she was nominated for outstanding supporting actress in the comedy series The Golden Girls. She was nominated in this category in 1986, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, and 92, she won the Emmy in 1988. Estelle was also nominated for Golden Globes. She was nominated for these in 1986, 87, and 92. She won the Golden Globe in 1986 for best performing actress in a TV series-musical/comedy “The Golden Girls.”
Sadly in 2000 Estelle was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and osteoporosis, which forced her to stop making public appearances. In 2002 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Later she found out that she didn’t actually have Alzheimer’s she has Lewy Body Dementia. People of all ages still enjoy watching reruns of her greatest, funniest, moments on “The Golden Girls.”

The smart tall substitute teacher we all love and know as Dorothy on the Golden Girls is portrayed by the wonderful Bea Arthur!!!
Bea was born in New York on May 13,1926 with the name Bernice Frankel. Bea is now known as Bea Arthur or Beatrice Arthur. Bea is known for many roles but most people know her as Maude or as Dorothy on the beloved show the Golden Girls. Bea also was on Broadway in Mame with Angela Lansbury and took part in many other Broadway shows. Getting back to TV she played in All In The Family in 1971 and in Amanda's in the year of 1983 but that comedy series did not last long.
Today Bea is on Broadway with her one woman show so see if it is coming near you.
