Hey dudes! Welcome to to the Sum 41 website! Well, I just started the site and well, I don't have much information just yet. At lest once every two weeks, I'll update the site. I have people drive me around, babe". *Deryck is shy: "If there are three people in the room, I cant talk,"he says. "But even if there are a thousand people, as long as I have a microphone, I can talk all night." * How Cone became a bass player: "When I was in high school, I started playing in a garage grunge band with my neighbors", says Cone. "They had already picked out their instruments, and they were like, 'You're going to play bass'. I was like, It's only four strings anyway. I'm sure I can learn." * Deryck on Blink 182 Comparisons: "I think its kind of a cop-out for critics to say we sound like them, instead of really listening to our music. Were both punk, but we have our own styles." * Steve as Tommy Lee: "I did a whole tour dressed up as Tommy Lee from Motley Crue," explains Steve. "I wore a big wig and a leopard thong. I think it made the metalheads in the audience proud." * On Pranks: Deryck and Steve are the kings, according to guitarist Dave. "Cone and I are kind of like their minions. We follow their lead." * Cone's Concert Moment: His belt broke during a show. When he jumped, his pants and boxers fell to the ground. So he played the rest of the gig in just a T-shirt. * Makes No Difference: DMX made an appearance in Sum 41's first music video, "Makes No Difference". He was in the area shooting the moviem "Exit Wounds". * Dave On Success: "We're living our dream. We're a bunch of suburban Canadian kids who live with our parents, who happen to be in a successful rock band." * Tattoos: All the guys have a 41 tattoed on the back of their arms. * Touring: Their first time on the road, Deryck brought everything he owned: clothes, recording equipment, TV set and video games. After the third day, everything was stolen; now he travels with 4 shirts and one pair of black Dickies pants. * Haircuts: Deryck has been cutting his own hair with kitchen scissors for about 5 years. * Dating Status: Cone and Dave are taken but Deryck and Steve are single. * Pranks: The guys have have thrown condoms filled with rancid milk and water at sunbathers. * High School: Steve says they were losers in HS. They had an odd little group of friends, but in Steve's group, he was the loser. It wasn't a big problem though. Deryk used to be called a fag constantly because his hair was funky. * Relatives: Steve has a sister named Jen. Cone has 2 sisters, one named Kate and one named Allison. Cone's dad's name is Paul and his mom is named Sharon. Deryck's mom's name is Michelle. * Shoe Sizes: Deryck -7, Cone -9.5, Steve -10.5, Dave -8. * TRL: Fat Lip was #1 on TRL July 16, 2001. * Nikka Costa: On Cone's 21st birthday (September 3, 2001) he got drunk and threw up on Nikka Costa's feet. * Favorite Snack Foods: Deryck - cookie dough, Cone - wine gums, - Dave - curry-flavored potato chips, Steve - sour patch kids. * Cone: Cone's girlfriends name is Shannon. * Living at Home: All the guys still live with their parents, except Dave, who recently moved out with his girlfriend. * Dave's Old Band: used to be in a Rage Against the Machine cover band called 747. * Dave's Girlfriend: According to Dave, his girlfriend is a trainee zookeeper. * Ice Cream: Cone's favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla but sometimes he has chocolate chip as a treat. * Cone's Diet: Cone has recently swore off all red meat from his diet. * Dave's Mistaken Identity: Dave is sometimes mistaken for Tony of No Doubt. * Parents: Deryck has never met his dad, and doesn't plan on trying to anytime soon. * DVD: Sum 41's new dvd came out on March 26th and is called Introduction to Destruction: Video Treats to Move Yo Feets. * Playing Live: Sum 41's favorite place to play live is at the Pomona Glass House. * Dave on Drugs: "I don't really like drugs that much because I just get totally quiet and sit there in the corner. I prefer booze." * Deryck on being independent: "As I took care of myself from the age of seven or eight, when I left home I didn't really feel like I was leaving someone to take care of me." * Deryck's Mom: Deryck says that he is now very close to his mother. * Destiny's Child: Deryck and Steve think Destiny's Child is hot but Cone doesn't think so. * Video Games: The guys of Sum 41 love the video game Grand Theft Auto III. * Birthdays: Deryck's b-day is March 21, STeve's is July 23, Dave's is July 26 and Cone's is Septemeber 3. * Horoscope: Deryck is an aries, Dave and Steve are Leos, and Cone is a Virgo. |
