Main supplies: Ball® canning jar – medium Activa® Rigid Wrap® Delta Ceramcoat® acrylic paint – red, blue Polyform® Sculpey® polymer clay – black, white, red, blue, yellow Pacon® Spectra® glitter - blue Optional supplies: Fleece fabric strips Basics supplies: Beacon™ Quick Grip™ glue Aluminum foil Paintbrushes Scissors When you see the “helping hand” symbol on a project, it means you may need adult supervision to do the project. Always use care when using tools or a heat source. Be careful and safe!) Instructions: 1. Scrunch aluminum foil into a cone shape. Using Rigid Wrap® build hat/ski cap around bottom of glass jar and over the aluminum foil cone. Let dry. Paint the hat red. Let dry and then paint blue stripes as shown. 2. Create a snowman, and a snowboard with the polymer clay. Scrunch up a small amount of aluminum foil to form a mountain. Press clay over mountain. Bake clay pieces on an oven proof glass surface at 275ºF per ¼” thickness, with good ventilation. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. Avoid over baking. Let cool. (NOTE: prior to baking make sure the mountain will fit inside the mouth of the glass jar.) 3. Glue the snowman to the snowboard, and then glue the snowboard to the mountain. Glue the bottom of the mountain to the jar lid. Let dry. 4. Glue hat to the base of the glass jar. Let dry. 5. Sprinkle glitter into the jar, fill with water leaving a space for mountain and snowboarder. Screw lid on tightly. Optional: 1. After hat/ski cap is painted, carefully poke a hole in the top of the hat. Measure and cut a 4” x 6” rectangle of fleece. Beginning along one short edge of the rectangle cut strips, stopping about ½” from the opposite short end. Apply glue to the uncut short edge and roll tightly. Dip end into glue and gently push into the hole at the top of the hat. Let dry.
