tricks and tips

Ollie Manual
Wheelies on a scooter!

It works like this, cruise at a good speed, then do a normal Ollie, but try to land on the back wheel only. Pull up on the handle bars to keep the front in the air.

Tips
1) Set your feet so that you can balance without standing on the brake

2) Lean your body forward toward the handlebars

3) Keep the handlebars raise as high as you can off the ground to make this trick look good

The 180
A cool way to change direction. You do this by Ollie-ing and using your body weight to spin the scooter around in the air.

This is harder than it sounds you might start with 1/4 turns at first then work up to the real 180.

1) Bend your legs into the Ollie position and jump as high as you can.

2) A soon as you take off, turn your shoulders and upper body to the right. Hold on tight to the handlebars and the scooter will turn and spin with you in the air.

3) As you land relax your body like a normal Ollie.

Bunny hop
Like a bike rider hopping to keep their balance while moving forward.

1) Slide both feet to the rear of the scooter, with your right foot over the brake and weight over the rear wheel.

2) Pull up on the handle bar to a 45 degree angle and hop the scooter by jumping and landing on the rear wheel.

Once you have this mastered try going backwards!

Tail Twitch
This one looks good, similar to an Ollie but real slick. You do this by starting to Ollie then pushing the tail of the scooter out to 45 degrees and back.

The key to sticking this is quick footwork, keeping your back foot against the brake so the deck stays with you.

1) Practice on an imaginary object to jump over.

2) Get up to a good speed.

3) As you get close to your target push back your rear foot so that it is at the back of the deck and squashed over the brake.

4) Ollie and bring the leg that is on the brake forward and to the right. Your momentum will shoot the deck right too.

5) As you return to the ground slide your foot back to position with the deck and your feet facing forward.
