This site is to help other members of the West Virginia Slaughters to find their history. In doing our own we found how difficult it is to track this family back , because of lack of communication between family members, little or no documentation, and many other reasons. We felt that because we have found people to help us, we should pass the help along. We have obtained census reports for some counties and gone through them. You will find what we have found. Some may be related and some may not. You will find multiple pages to put this site together. For our family we will us one page and fill it in as we find them.
If you happen to be a member of this family, please feel free to e-mail us and let us know. Maybe you may have something to help us. The family we are working on includes Henry Walker Slaughter who changed the spelling to Slawter. We would appriciate any help in doing this one.
As I said before we will be posting the census reports on this site. We have started with 1870. Most of the family we are in is from Jackson County and around there. We will post any Slaughters we find as we go along.
