Dodge City was called the "Cowboy Capital of the World."
The town was located on the old Santa Fe Trail and was a rendezvous for all the
imfamous characters of the Old West.
It was also the major headquarters of the cattle business. In 1864 over eight
million head of cattle and over three thousand men passed through this town!
And in one year,
200,00 buffalo hides were shipped from Dodge City!
