The SR-71A Blackbird was created by Kelly Johnson. It was composed of 93% Titanium alloy. It has two engines and flew at a speed of 2000.00 miles per hour. It has a lenght of 32.74 meters, a height of 5.64 meters and a wingspan of 16.94 meters. |
The SR-71A Blackbird was a supersonic plane. It has a speed of mach 3. There were only few Blackbirds that were created, about less than 30. Some were retired due to the damages and some were shot down. It was said that "to retain peace, we fly unarmed. The Blackbirds were planes that has no weapons whatsoever. |

The Blackbirds were planes of peace. They fly with no weapons. They were great, so to follow the success of the Blackbirds, there was another on going project. The project's goal was to create a hypersnoc plane. The hypersonic level was to go beyond the speed of mach 5. The project was a success. The project's fruit was the X-15, which flew at about mach 6.2. |
As the X-15 was a success, many still on goin project's pursue to create a plane that would go beyond the speed that the X-15 has accomplished. Some tests direct a stainless steel model to a rocket exhaust. Even though the model was stainless, it couldn't stand the extreme teperature ,and so it melted first the nosetip, then the wings. A plane like made like this would fry the pilot in the cocpit. |
