OCARINA OF TIME
____________________________________________________________________________ The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time 64 Walkthrough/FAQ starting as adult ____________________________________________________________________________ . -------------- Temple of Time -------------- Walk ahead and stand on the red carpet in front of the big stone. Play the Song of Time. The three spiritual stones will transport to the stone. Go through the door once it unlocks. Walk ahead and pull the Master Sword out of the stone. Talk to the big fat guy and he’ll give you the Light Medallion. You’ll appear as an adult when you come back to the Temple of Time. You’ll also have to talk to Sheik (who is really Zelda). Go to Kakariko Village and go to the graveyard (where you went to get the Hylian Shield). ********************************** Collecting the Forest Medallion ********************************** ------------------ Kakariko Graveyard ------------------ Go ahead and go to the left. Get behind the first grave in the row on the left side and pull it towards you (the grave with flowers in front of it). Fall in and walk ahead. Talk to the guy and chase him. You have to do this to get the Hookshot. The order of ways is: ahead + right + left + straight past purple fire + left + right + left + left + right + right + right + left + go a little bit past the rocks then go to the right + left + at purple fire turn right + ahead past the blue stones and right + left + left + right + left. Walk up the path and through the door. The guy will talk to you. Open the chest to receive the Hookshot. Walk ahead and play the Song of Time in front of the blue block to make it fade away. Walk up the steps and go into the windmill. Get out of there and go to Kokiri forest and go back to the Lost Woods. ---------- Lost Woods ---------- You need to get back to the Sacred Forest Meadow. So if you don’t remember the way, it is: Right + left + right + left (this time play Saria’s song to the kid) + Straight + left + right -------------------- Sacred Forest Meadow -------------------- This time you take the same route but use the Hookshot on the big guys before they get you. First off there is a guy in front of you. Go right, around the corner to the left, and around again to the left is another guy so be careful. Go straight and to the right is another guy. Go ahead and turn left through the grass. Then to the right is another guy but you need to go left. Kill the guy then go left and jump into the water. Walk ahead and to the right is another guy. Kill him then go to the left up the stairs. To defeat the next guy you have to go from left to right and dodge the rocks and walk past him. Go up the stairs, then Sheik will teach you the Minuet of Forest. When she leaves, stand on the port and equip your Hookshot. Look ahead and look up. Aim for the bushes ahead and above that are hanging down. Once you are pulled to it, go on into the hole. ------------- Forest Temple ------------- Walk ahead and kill the wolfs. Go to the right and climb the vines. Walk carefully across the log above and either jump over to the chest or aim at the chest with your hookshot to pull yourself to it. Open it to receive a small key. Get back down and go through the door. Kill the spider and go through the next door. When the ghosts leave, walk ahead, up the stairs and through the door on the other side of the room. Kill the Blue bubble and go through the door. Go to the Mini-boss section in this strategy guide to defeat the stalfos. When they die open the chest and get the key. Go back outside down the stairs and go to the right. Go through the opening with the blue block. Stand in front of it and play the Song of time to make it disappear then go through the door. Go up to the wall to the right, shoot off the spiders with the hookshot, and climb the vines. Go into the hole in the wall and go through the door. Kill the Blue bubble to reveal a chest. Open it to receive the dungeon map, then go on through the next door. Look left and shoot the target with your hookshot. Step on the block to drain the well then go down into it. Walk down the path and open the chest for another key. Climb up the vines out of the well. Follow the path back to the giant flower then enter the door to the right. You’re back in the main room. Go unlock the door up the stairs to the right then go through. Kill the spider then go through the next door. Go up the first two ladders ahead. Go to the left and follow the yellow arrows ahead and around the corner to the left. Follow this path to the blue block. Push it out onto the path. Then go back around and pull the block towards you as far as you can. Then go back to the other side again and push it against the wall. Now go back again and push it into place. Go back to where you found the block and climb up the ladder there. Go up and to the right. Turn right at the brown block and push it as far out as you can. Now go back down to the blue block and climb up and go to the right. Walk ahead and push the brown block forward into place. Climb up it and go to the right up the ladder. Walk ahead and kill the two blue bubbles then open the door and go on through. Walk through the twisted hallway into the next area. Jump across to the block then turn right and jump onto this block and go through the door. Walk down the stairs (don’t mind the disappearing paintings) and go though the door. Read mini-boss strategies to defeat the Stalfos. Open the chest when they are defeated to receive the Fairy Bow. Go back through the that you just came from. Stay back and try to kinda hide. You must shoot the picture with the Poe in it with your bow. You’ll shoot the one up the stairs first. Then the one on the ceiling by where you entered the Stalfos area and the one in the middle floor. When they are all gone, go down to the bottom floor where the door is to where you fought the Stalfos and beat the Poe. Do so by, using L-targeting, wait until it appears and shows itself, then grab it with your hookshot. When defeated open the chest to receive another key. Go back through the door to where the Stalfos were and go through the next door. Repeat the process to make the second Poe appear then kill her in the same way. When defeated open the chest to receive the Compass. Backtrack to the twisted hall and go back to where you entered it (entrance). Look above the door and shoot the eye with your bow. The hall will straighten. Go back through it out to the next area. Jump down and open the yellow and blue chest to receive the boss key. Now turn around and fall through the hole. Kill the blue bubbles then go up the stairs through the door. Kill the giant flower and go through the door to the right. Kill the Floormaster by using L-targeting and shooting it with your bow. When beaten open the chest to receive another key. Go back out and go through the door to the right. Go to the right and go all the way back up the ladders and blocks to the twisted hallway entrance. Kill the two blue bubbles and shoot the eye with your bow once again. Go through the hall and back to the stalfos room. Go through the next door (the one with the Forest Temple sign above it) and up the stairs. Unlock the door and go through it. Fall down and climb the ladder to the right. Go through the hall, killing the green things with your bow then unlock the door and go through it. There is an eye covered in ice in this room. Jump onto one of the moving blocks, have your bow ready, and wait until the fir lines up with the eye then shoot through it and it will melt away the ice and trigger the eye. Go back outside and go down the twisted hall to where you came from. Fall down the hole to the right. Make your way carefully up to the block and step on it. Then hurry and go through the door ahead. You’ll have to shoot a few spiders with your hookshot in order to do this carefully (Note: If you have little or no arrows, you may want to open that chest there). Go on through the door. Shoot the Poe on the left side of the wall for the blocks to fall. You now need to put these together to shape them into a picture of a Poe. So you have to do this on your own, cause if you don’t get it done in time the blocks change all around to another piece. So, once you are done with that, the third Poe will appear. Kill her then go through the door. Kill the Spider then go through the door. Go to the center of the room. You must now fight 4 Poes. Go to mini-boss strategies section and read on how to defeat the 4 Poe sisters. When you have killed all four of them, stand on the platform in the middle of the room. It will take you down to the bottom layer. Go to the big block sticking out of the wall and push on it. Push the wall around until you find a block then step on it. Push the wall around again until you find another block, then push it and go across to the other side of the room and open the door. Walk up the stairs and onto the open area. Go to boss strategies section and read on how to defeat Phantom Ganon, then get the heart piece and go into the light. ******************************** Collecting the Fire Medallion ******************************** Fist go to the Temple of Time. Walk up to the stone where you had drawn the master sword from and talk to Shiek, so that you can learn the Perlude of Light. Now go back to Death mountain and to Goron City (where you got the Goron’s Bracelet). ---------- Goron City ---------- You first need to get a Goron Tunic. You’ll notice a Goron rolling around the arena on the second floor. If you stop him with a bomb you can get a free Goron Tunic from him. Otherwise pick one up from the Goron shop on the bottom floor to the left of the entrance of the Darunia’s room. To open this door you must place a bomb in front of it. Stand on the block with the symbols on the floor, on the bottom floor and play Zelda’s Lullaby to open the door (Note: If you sucessfully stopped that rolling goron, then you wont need to do this). Go into Darunia’s room and pull the giant statue toward you a ways then get behind it and go into the hole. Put on the Goron Tunic and go up and to the left. Go to the broken bridge. Aim your hookshot at the hanging part on the other side. Climb up and walk forward then you will learn the Bolero of Fire from Sheik. Walk ahead and turn left across the bridge and into the hall ahead. Fall down through the hole and turn around. Walk ahead into the Fire Temple. ----------- Fire Temple ----------- Go up the stairs and in the door to the left. You’ll see Darunia and he’ll go into the Boss room. Now jump to the left and make your way to the upper left corner of the room. Step on the block and free the Goron. Talk to him and he’ll give you some useful tips. Go ahead and open the chest to receive a small key. Any ways go back out to the room where you just were (with the stairs). Unlock the door ahead and go on through. Make your way over to the left side of the room and go through the door (you’ll also need to play the song of time while standing in front of that blue block above). Walk down the hall and step onto the block to free the Goron. Talk to him then open the chest for another key. Go back outside. Now get to the opposite side of the room, blow up the wall with a bomb, go through the door, free the Goron and get the key. Go back out to the main room. Get on the bridge and go to the right. Unlock the door and go through. Go down the bridge and climb up the wall to the right. When you reach the bridge, get onto it and kill the two bats. Jump down to the block on the left and push it off the ledge onto the fire. When it drops to the ground, jump on it and it will take you to the next room. Unlock the door and go through. Take a left and go up the ledges to the upper left corner of the room, killing the torch slugs on the way. Jump over to the ledge with the diamond switch on it. Push the block off of the ledge, then jump down and pull it all the way out. Get on top of the block and climb the wall up to the right. Get along the ledge in the upper left corner and drop a bomb on the diamond switch below (use C-up to look down and make sure that the switch is there. You have to be just along the very edge of the ledge for this to work. You have to drop the bomb rather than throw it, so you’ll need to be exact). Turn around, jump up the ledge and climb the fence quickly. Go to the right and go through the door. Turn right, and stay along the left side of the wall. Follow it to another block, then step on it. Free the Goron. Talk to him then get the key. There should be somewhat of an upside down T ledge just to your left, as you leave. Walk along the upper part of it (what would be the top part of a T). Once passed, get against the wall on the left there, and follow it while avoiding the Gorons to another locked door. The door will be in somewhat of a corner, and hard to see from the overhead view, so be careful not to miss it. Before going through this door, you’ll need another key (if you already went through it’s ok, just come back out). So from here, continue making your way along the left side of the wall until you come to a square platfrom, and a goron that will be continuously rolling around it. If you look closely, you’ll see an opening in the wall on the other side of it. From here walk straight ahead and go into the open area under the wall. Go on through the door. Step on the block, free the Goron, and get the key. Go outside and back to the locked door then go on through it. Now be extremely careful and slowly walk across the narrow path to the door ahead. You don’t need to worry about the barred door in this room, unless you want the Dungeon Map. In which case you do, shoot the eye in the upper-right corner of the room with your hookshot or arrows. Once you’ve gone through the locked door, a small bridge will appear, that leads you to the right. Once you jump onto the fenced floor, a curtain of fire will begin to chase you. Hurrily make your way across the fenced flooring to the ledges at the end. Climb up the ledges and go through the door to the left (the only one up there). Jump over to the first ledge and kill the Torch Slug. Walk ahead and place a bomb on the bent up floor then move back. Fall down the hole or climb down. Step on the block, free the Goron, and get the key. Go back and climb up the hole. When back up there, turn around (when facing the door) and go across to the next ledge (this time it is a corner). Turn right and go over to the ledge with the block on it. Step on the block then jump ahead to the torch slug and kill him. Jump ahead again then you must turn right and jump onto a skinny ledge (the upside down T again) so be careful! Once on there, turn left (slowly) and walk ahead, then jump across to the next ledge. Walk ahead, turn right and jump over to this ledge then kill the Torch Slug. Turn left and jump over to the Goron. Free the Goron, and get the key. Backtrack to the room where the fire follows you. You’ve two ways to do it. You can eaither jump fromledge to ledgeand make your way back on the top area, or just fall down to the rolling gorons again and find the previously locked door. I prefer to find the previously locked door again, because it takes less time, but either way is fine. Once back in the room where the fire chases you, you’ll see a locked door on the left wall of the room, and you need to get to it. All you do is when you see the two sands with hearts on them, you run ahead towards the one on the left (closest to the door) and jump off of the fenced floor onto the ledge and climb up. Go through the door. Walk ahead through the hall and go through the next door. You’ll need to go to the left first, past the spinning statue that’s spitting out fire, and allow the walls of fire that appear to guide you to the locked door in the upper-right part of the room. Walk through the hall and out the opposite door, leaving the goron there for now. Make your wayto the switch in the upper-left corner. Step on the switch. Hurry and turn around (facing the spitting-fire statue), run towards it and turn right. Now quickly run towards the ledge with the fire that just disappeared, jump up onto the ledge and walk up to the door. Be careful, it is a fake! Place a bomb in front of the door before going through, then go on through (make sure you have enough health first). Read the mini-boss section to defeat the Flare dancer, then jump onto the platform above. Go through the next door. Go around the corner to the right and climb the fence. Once you get up there, drop a bomb on the diamond switch to the right (using the same strategy as before) and climb up the fence. Go through the door. Walk ahead and climb up the ledges on the left then step on the block. Carefully but rather quickly, walk up all the stairs and open the chest to receive the Megaton Hammer. If you don’t do it in time just go back and try again. Once completed, go back down the stairs to where the switch was. Jump off the ledges and you’ll see a block. Hit the block with your hammer and fall down through the hole. Get rid of the statue with your hammer and enter the next room. Hit the big block that is stuck out with your hammer then pick up a crate from behind and place it on the blue block down the stairs to open the door. Go through the door. Hit the next block and drop through. Jump up onto the ledge and hit the rusted switch with your hammer, then go through the door. Stand on the edge of the ledge and play the song of time to make the blue block disappear. Jump across and hit the switch. Drop down, talk to the Goron and get the key. Go back out of the cell and go through the door on the left. Make your way left, through the maze again, until you reach the big block in the center of the room. Climb up to the pot where you first were with the rusted switch and turn around. Jump over to the block (on top of it) and hit it with you hammer then fall down through it. It is a really big fall! Turn around and go through the door ahead. You are back at the entrance. Smash the statue to the right of the stairs down at the bottom of the stairs and go through the door (the door that is locked). Kill everything in here to open the next door (I always use the hammer on the Torch Slugs and hookshot on the bats), then go on through it. Get rid of the flying squares by either shooting them with L-targeting and your hookshot or letting them hit you. The big slimy thing ahead known as a Like Like, is not as friendly as it looks. You can loose your shield and Tunic if swallowed by this guy! But don’t worry, you can get it back once you kill him. Use L-targeting and hit him with the hammer or hookshot (with hookshot you must hit him with sword after). Go through the door to the left and read on how to defeat another Flare Dancer. Now go through the unlocked door, hit the block with your hammer, and get the boss key this time! Go through the door ahead. It’ll take you back to the entrance with the stairs. Go up the stairs and go through the door on the left again. Jump across to the opposite side of the room and go through the door using the boss key. Go to Boss strategies section and read on how to defeat Volvagia. Once beaten get the heart piece and go into the blue light. Now you’ll receive the Fire Medallion from Darunia.
ocarina of time
********************************* 8. Collecting the Water Medallion ********************************* You may want to smash the boulders in the upper left corner of the room, near the area where you entered (across the bridge). Smash the rocks with your megaton hammer if you want to recieve the double meter. Go to Zora’s Domain again and go out to where Jabu-Jabu once laid (you’ll have to play Zelda’s Lullaby on the triforce symbol in front of the water fall). ------------- Zora’s Domain ------------- Once you are here, Head to where Jabu-Jabu would be if he were still around. Walk out to the end of the ledge, then hop onto the moving pieces of land. Very carefully, make your way to the cave opening on your almost immidiate left. You may not be able to see it very well in some cases, if it is snowing real bad or something, but it’s on the left. Make your way to it and enter. ---------- Ice Cavern ---------- This part of the game is extremly creepy in its’ own little way. The music/backround effects sound like no more than a set of chimes. Very cracked-out pretty much through out this whole dungeon. Okay first of all, run straight ahead down the long hallway and keep moving, while trying to avoid the falling iceicles. When you reach the first room, you must kill all of the Freezzard in this room. Read the mini-boss strategies section for help on how to defeat it. Anyway kill all of them, while avoiding the spiked thing circling around the room. One of them may appear invisible from time to time so watch out, but you must kill them all to unlock the next door. Go through the unlocked door, then walk down the hallway, trying to avoid the falling iceicles again. Smash the spiked crsytals sticking out of the ground with your Megaton Hammer, then continue to the next area. Now you must collect the five ruppees in the next room to continue on. Once you’ve done so, go through the unlocked door. The large spinning blade in the center of the room must be avoided from time to time while trying to complete this task. Ruppee 1: Look to your left a little. Notice the wall that looks somewhat red? Well, notice also that just around the corener to your immidiate left, you’ll see a rock with a ruppee behind it. Make your way up the left wall while avoiding the blade and turn to carefully smash the crystals blocking your way to it to get that ruppee. Ruppee 2: From here Go back out and to your left (down to the part with the red wall). Turn around and you’ll see somewhat of a path leading toward the center of the room next to the big blade thing. There will be a ruppee at the end of this path. You must be quick and accurate to nab this ruppee just in time, before the blade hits you. Get it, then turn back around and run back to the red wall. Try to avoid the flying pots if possible. Now continue and make your way around the room to the right. Ruppee 3:While heading to the right, you’ll see a diamond in your way, and in the path of the blade. It is fairly hard to beat the blade to it and get to it safely in time, unless you do it perfectly and get the timing just right. It is possible, just hard. Ruppee 4: Once you are near the ledges, you’ll notice another path with a ruppee at the end of it. Repeat the previously performed process to get this next ruppee. Ruppee 5: Now you must climb the ledges and collect the last ruppee, near the top. You’ll have to do this by jumping off and grabbing it in midair. Once done so, climb the ledges then go through the unlocked door. Go through the hallway, then you must avoid the spike things once again and kill the Freezzard. Continue through to the next area while avoiding the falling crystals. This next area is somewhat complicated. First of all, kill the Freezzard in front of you, then climb the ledges to your right and follow the path to kill another one. You will also want to kill the flying bats. Now, you must jump across onto the platform on your left and then onto the next ledge. You’re going to have to use your bottles to catch some of this fire (if you don’t have more than one bottle, you may have to come back here to refill it again). Backtrack to the spinning blade room. On both sides of this room the walls are red. Make your way to the red wall on the left side and poor some blue fire, that you caught in a bottle, onto it to melt it away. From here, walk down the hallway to where there will be crystals falling, with a few in front of you and there’ll be some blue fire behind it. Refill your bottle(s) with blue fire while avoiding the bats. Backtrack to the spinning blade room, and melt the red wall on the other side of the room with some more blue fire. Now we have another silver ruppe collecting thing. Ruppee 1: First of all, we are going to use this exact way you are now facing as North for a direction. So go to the East side of the block or on the right, get behind the east side so that you are facing West, and push on it to to push it into a ledge. Climb onto it to receive the first ruppee. Ruppee 2: Now, while facing the direction that you were going while climbing the block, you must get on the left side of it again, and push it to the other side of the room. It will end up against another ledge. Climb the block again and collect the ruppee Ruppee 3: Now, while facing the direction you were when climbing the block, get behind the left side of it again, which would actually now be the West side of it, but be careful it’s along the edge and the space is narrow. Go on and push it to the east onto another small ledge. Climb the block to get the next ruppee. Ruppee 4: Now while facing Eastwardly, go to the left side of the block (on the north side) and push it into the next ledge. Climb the ledge to the next ruppee. Ruppee 5: Now push the block off of the edge of the ice. Go back to where you first found it. It will re-appear there. Now push it straight to the north from the south (where you first entered the room). Go to it and go to the west side of it and push it back east one last time. Climb the block, and use some blue fire on the red ice. Collect the last ruppee. Now you must push the block off of the ice one more time. Go to where it reappears, then push it from the south to the north once again, and then from east to west. Push it from the south end to the north end then back to the west again. Once again from south to north. Climb the block and refill your bottles with blue fire. Push the block off of the ice and go back to where it reappears. Push it from the east side again to the west to the small platform that you previously saw with the ruppee. You’ll need to make your way to the right around the room. From here, get onto the south side and push it north. Then go from west to east. Then north to south. Finally push the block from the east to the west one last time, then climb the block and go through the hallway. You’ll have to avoid some more falling iceicles and kill some more Freezzards. Melt away the ice in your way and and go through the door. You must now defeat the mini-boss white wolfos. Read Mini-Boss Strategies section to defeat him, then open the chest to receive the Iron Boots. Shiek will teach you the Serenade of water, and then disappear. Before leaving, make sure that you have atleast one bottle of blue fire. Now, instead of backtracking out of this place, you may just want to ocarina warp out of here to the Forest Temple. So do so, then make your way to the shortcut warp point in the Lost Woods (see Easter Egg Cheats section). Go back to Zora's River, up to the Triforce symbol, play Zelda's Lullaby, and jump through the waterfall into the hole. Go into Zora's Domain. ------------- Zora's Domain ------------- Once inside, head up the stairs to the big fat guy, the chief per say, near the entrance to Zora's Fountain. Unfreeze him with the blue fire, and talk to him from the platform. He'll give you a free Zora's Tunic. Play the Serenade of Water on your Ocarina to warp to Hylia Lake. ---------- Hylia Lake ---------- I suggest that firstly you go to section 17 and read on how to get the fire arrow, for you will need it later on in the game. Now you must put on your Zora Tunic and Iron boots and sink to the bottom of the lake. Hit the blue switch above the gate underwater on the wall with your Hookshot to flood the lake. Now walk into the next dungeon. ------------ Water Temple ------------ This is a very long and somewhat difficult dungeon, if you don’t follow directions correctly. I must warn you that there is a lot of switching back and forth between items (including your boots). Firstly, you must put your normal boots back on to climb up into the main room. Walk ahead and re-equip your iron boots to float to the bottom of the water. Head through the passageway on the right where the two unlit torches are. Walk down the hall to meet princess Ruto. Once she is done talking to you, re-equip your Kokiri Boots to follow her up to the surace. When you reach the top, you’ll notice a triforce symbol on the wall. Stand in front of it and play Zelda’s Lullaby to adjust the water level. It should drain the water level completely. Ignore the door here, unless you want to waist your time with the dungeon map. If so, then you must go through the door and kill all of the spiked balls to get it. Once done, fall back through the hole to the bottom floor. There will be two un-lit torches beside a door, and one in the center of the room that is lit. You must align yourself so that you can shoot an arrow through the lit torch, catching the arrow on fire, and sending it into the un-lit torch beside the door. Do this for both un-lit torches to unlock the door, then go through. Kill all of the shell blade’s (read mini-boss strategies to learn how to defeat) in this room to make a chest appear. Open it to receive a small key. Go back out of the doo
i would like to say that i give full and complete credit of this guide to Shawn Stone & Amber Hornsby ( his girlfriend ) and my i say it is a good guide so good job shawn!
